School During Lockdown - Better Or Worse?
Hey, I cannot believe this! This is my first ever blog and its about school. Hmm, I never thought I'll ever be blogging 'bout school, but this blog is special, for the first time ever all the classes were online, like literally all the classes in fact I have been in online classes for one whole academic year.
So when all other industrial sectors are getting beaten up because of this pandemic, apps like; Google, Microsoft, and Zoom are experiencing a major hike in usage of their apps. But from an honest perspective, online classes aren't as good as face to face learning. There is a lot of disadvantages in online classes, a few are:
- Online classes require more time than on-campus classes
- Online classes may create a sense of isolation
- Online classes don't have an instructor hounding you to stay on task
- Online classes give you more freedom, perhaps, more you can handle!
Anyways there are a lot of fun things that occur in online classes, some where students forget to turn off the mics and end up give somewhat private details when speaking. We here in the United Arab Emirates have an option to choose between Complete Online Classes, Blended Learning (where students go to school just a few days a week) and On-Campus Learning (where students go to school all the learning days of the week).
